The last big release in Tollywood is Nandamuri Balakrishna’s (NBK) Akhanda 2: Thaandavam. This marks Boyapati Sreenu’s fourth movie with the star, and it arrived in cinemas on December 12, 2025, after facing some legal hurdles.
The movie satisfied its target audience, but commercially it failed at the box office. The growing buzz is that the film is now around the corner for its digital debut.
Reports suggest that Netflix is set to premiere Akhanda 2 on January 9, 2026, in Telugu, Hindi, and other major Indian languages. If this happens, Akhanda 2 will be the first Telugu biggie to arrive on OTT this year, with a theatrical-to-OTT gap of just four weeks.
The pan-Indian film features Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Kabir Duhan Singh, Harshaali Malhotra, Saswata Chatterjee, and others in prominent roles. The film is produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta, with music composed by Thaman.
