The last few weeks have not been that great for the Hindi film industry with a disappointing streak of new releases. Varun Dhawan’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo fared well and performed decently at the box office. The last week’s releases Hit: The First Case and Shabhaash Mithu didn’t meet the expectations and failed badly.

The next biggie to arrive is Ranbir’s Shamshera on 22nd July. Shamshera wasn’t promoted well from the beginning and there was a negligible buzz. But once the movie team released the teaser, the expectations suddenly raised, and with the trailer, the film managed to draw the attention of the audience.

The advance bookings are good for the film and it is expected to rake in a two-digit opening comfortably. The exact estimates can be known by Thursday. The film needs to perform well to end the dry run at the Bollywood box office which can boost the confidence of upcoming releases like Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan. Let’s hope the movie performs well.

Vaani Kapoor is the leading lady while Sanjay Dutt plays the baddie. Prestigious banner Yash Raj Films bankrolled the film that has music by Mithoon. Agneepath fame Karan Malhotra is helming this big-budget action drama. The film will release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
