Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun is one of the most well-made thrillers in Indian cinema. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte, the movie was a commercial blockbuster. In China Andhadhun was a rage with monstrous numbers. However, years after its release, Varun Dhawan revealed that he was the first choice for the film.
During his recent appearance on Tanmay Bhat’s YouTube channel, Varun was asked if there was a big film that Varun had rejected and later regretted after seeing its success. Varun Dhawan said, “It’s Andhadhun. I said no to a good film. I was filming for something else. So I couldn’t do it. And the original cast of the film was supposed to be me and Kangana.”
The roles eventually went to Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu who were lauded for their performances. Ayushmann went on to bag the National Award for his performance, and it surely is a costly miss for Varun Dhawan.
