Director Anil Ravipudi has revealed that he turned down Jana Nayagan as he was not keen on remaking Bhagavanth Kesari.

Speaking about the decision, Ravipudi said he preferred to narrate a fresh subject rather than revisit the same story in a new language.

However, Vijay was reportedly adamant about remaking Bhagavanth Kesari and wanted to move ahead with that idea. As their creative thoughts did not align, the project eventually went to another director. The film is yet to hit the screens.
