Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran scored back-to-back hits with The Goat Life and Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. While the former is an experimental flick, the latter is a fun entertainer with commercial elements. While a good box office performance was anticipated, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil has surpassed all estimations. It is doing the unthinkable at the ticket windows, leaving trade pundits in shock.

Directed by Vipin Das of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey fame, the comedy-drama has already zoomed past the 50-crore mark at the worldwide box office. The movie had a solid first Monday with over 3 crores gross, and till now, it collected over 20 crores in Kerala. Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil is having a superb run in the international markets, and it can well be another 100 crore grosser for the Malayalam film industry.

The theatrical release of Mammootty’s Turbo can slightly impact the screen count, but given the positive reception among the audience, 100 crores gross should be a piece of cake for Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. Produced by Prithviraj Productions and E4 Entertainment banners, the film has Basil Joseph, Nikhila Vimal, Anaswara Rajan, Siju Sunny, and Yogi Babu in crucial roles. Ankit Menon composed the tunes.
