Soon after the release of Arjun Reddy, Shalini Pandey became one of the most sought after actresses in the industry. She has three films lined up for release in Tamil, and she was recently seen in a cameo in Mahanati. The actress says that she is very particular about the script and the team that she is going to work with before she decides to come onboard.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Shalini urged writers and directors to look beyond stereotypes when it come to writing roles for actresses. Talking about her own experience, she said, “I was recently role of a young woman, who is from a profession X. However, she is really dumb and bubbly for no reason at all. Why should girls be bubbly on screen all the time? Girls are either too bubbly or too scared in movies. It hurts me because we can offer so much more. And I fail to understand why they write only a bubbly character all the time.”
The actress has the Tamil remake of 100% Love, and Gorilla, lined up for release in Tamil, and in Telugu, she will be sharing screen space with Kalyanram in KV Guhan’s next.
