As soon as the protesting distributors of ‘Lingaa’ Tamil version got the permission to carry out a hunger strike, the South Indian Artists Association has come to Rajinikanth’s rescue. The association issued a press statement suggesting that the distributors should meet the film’s producer to discuss about their compensation and should not
bother the actor.
Following the major financial losses after the debacle of ‘Lingaa’, a large group of distributors decided to sit for a hunger strike in Chennai, just to attract Ranijikanth’s attention towards their woes. Finding fault with this, the Artists Association has said that it is common in any business to see profits and lossees, and that no actor is solely responsible for a film’s failure.
We will have to wait for the distributors’ response to the association’s suggestion.
