The anticipation for the next Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday, is through the roof. The first trailer for the film was released yesterday, shortly after which tickets went on sale for a limited number of premium-format shows in the USA.

Within 12 hours of the commencement of ticket sales, the movie earned a mind-boggling $10.5 million, reflecting the immense craze among audiences. The figure includes preview sales as well. However, bookings have opened only for Infinity Vision, which accounts for just 10% of the total shows. The majority of the shows are yet to go live, making the trend even more spectacular.

The format was launched earlier this year as Disney’s trademarked large-screen format. There are still five months left until the film’s release, but the initial pace suggests that it is set to create a tsunami at the box office this Christmas season. Avengers: Doomsday will lock horns with Dune: Part Three on December 18, 2026.

Robert Downey Jr., who played Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, in the MCU, returns to the franchise as the villain Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. The film also reunites the Russo Brothers, who directed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
