Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its dominant box office run, with opening weekend numbers indicating a staggering Rs. 761 crore global haul within just four days. While the film is enjoying strong theatrical momentum, a lawyer has raised an urgent plea in the Madras High Court seeking to halt its screenings in Tamil Nadu.
Reports suggest the petition cited concerns that the film’s political themes could impact the upcoming state elections under the Model Code of Conduct.
However, the bench of Chief Justice S A Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan observed that no formal petition had been filed and asked the petitioner to submit one before any proceedings.
With no stay or restriction in place, the Ranveer Singh starrer espionage action thriller is currently screening without interruption across Tamil Nadu in multiple languages, including Tamil.
