Hrithik Roshan’s aerial action thriller Fighter is arriving in cinemas on 25th January. Siddharth Anand is the director of this biggie. The last two films of Siddharth, War, and Pathaan are blockbusters, and hence, everyone expected Fighter to open big at the box office. But the situation is looking quite contrasting.
The advances for the opening day are way below expectations in India and international markets. Though today is the last day for advances, the momentum in the sales is not at all encouraging. Initially, trade anticipated a 50 crore opening, but looking at the current trend, it seems Fighter will open around 20-25 crore net. The opening may still be lower if the talk and reviews aren’t positive.
The poor advance bookings are attributed to the film’s trailer and music. A few opine that Fighter is dealing with a tried and tested concept, hence the underwhelming response. If the movie opens to positive word of mouth, it might benefit from the extended Republic Day weekend. Deepika Padukone played the female lead.
