After Oh My God 2, Akshay Kumar scored a clean hit at the box office with his recent horror comedy entertainer Bhooth Bangla. The film marked the reunion of Akshay with the legendary Priyadarshan, the filmmaker who has a knack for making humorous entertainers. Following Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Akshay Kumar starrer attracted good footfalls, keeping theatres alive.
The film is still finding traction at the box office even though it’s been more than a month since its arrival. Bhooth Bangla is most likely to have its OTT premiere on June 12. Netflix holds the post-theatrical streaming rights to this hit film. An official confirmation is yet to be made.
So far, the film minted Rs. 175 crores nett at the Indian box office, while the global collection is around Rs. 240 crores gross. Wamiqa Gabbi played the female lead. The film also features Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, Rajesh Sharma, Manoj Joshi, and the late Asrani ji in crucial roles. Bhooth Bangla is jointly bankrolled by Akshay Kumar, Ektaa Kapoor, and Shobha Kapoor.
