Akshay Kumar will next be seen in the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. The film marks his reunion with legendary filmmaker Priyadarshan. Initially slated for release on April 10, the movie has now been postponed to April 17, with paid previews scheduled for April 16.
Today, the makers unveiled the theatrical trailer, and it hints at a king-size entertainer, neatly blending comedy and horror. Rooted in folklore, the film revolves around a demon named “Vadhusur,” who poses a major threat to the residents of Mangalpur. Arjun (Akshay Kumar) arrives there to host his sister’s wedding at his ancestral palace, but soon finds himself caught in a series of hilarious chaos and eerie happenings.
Akshay Kumar is known for his impeccable comic timing, and Priyadarshan seems to have presented him at his best. The trailer suggests a solid entertainer, with the humor landing effectively. From the performances to the royal bungalow setting, music, comedy, and horror elements, everything looks promising, suggesting a box office blast.
Produced jointly by Ektaa Kapoor and Akshay Kumar, the film stars Wamiqa Gabbi as the female lead. The ensemble cast also includes Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Manoj Joshi, Mithila Palkar, Asrani, and Rajesh Sharma in key roles.
