SS Rajamouli’s upcoming globe-trotting action adventure starring Mahesh Babu has remained under wraps, with only a handful of details emerging so far. Now, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays a key role in the film, has offered a glimpse into its staggering scale and Rajamouli’s uncompromising approach to filmmaking.
“Big is an understatement. I haven’t ever encountered the scale before,” Prithviraj said, adding that even Rajamouli admitted, “Neither have I.” He also revealed that one of the film’s most demanding sequences took nearly 100 takes to complete.
“Mahesh and I started in the morning. I don’t know if it was take 94 or 97, but it was 90-something. Around 6:30 or 7 PM, Rajamouli sir finally said, ‘Pack up. We’ll do this again tomorrow morning.’ It actually happened,” he recalled.
Prithviraj also called Rajamouli the hardest-working filmmaker he has ever worked with, praising his relentless dedication on set. He added that the experience has made him “so much richer as an actor, as a filmmaker and as a human being.”
Coming from one of Indian cinema’s finest actors and an acclaimed filmmaker, Prithviraj’s remarks have only heightened anticipation for Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s ambitious globe-trotting action adventure. The film is currently slated to release in theatres, including IMAX, on April 7, 2027.
