The upcoming Sankranthi festive season is already jam-packed with a handful of high budget entertainers featuring top stars and technicians. RRR (Jan 7), Bheemla Nayak (Jan 12), Sarkaru Vaari Paata (Jan 13) and Radhe Shyam (Jan 14) are the much-awaited Telugu biggies that are going to lock horns with each other during the next Sankranthi season. There is a buzz that Nagarjuna-Chay’s Bangarraju will also join the Sankranthi clash, but there has been no official update from the team yet.

Now, in a pleasantly surprising move, the makers of senior hero Rajasekhar’s 91st film, Sekhar, are planning to enter the Sankranthi race. Sekhar had commenced its shoot in summer earlier this year and the production formalities are nearing completion. It remains to be seen whether or not the film makes it to the Sankranthi clash eventually.

Sekhar is an official remake of the acclaimed Malayalam thriller, Joseph. The film also features young Malayali and Bollywood beauties Anu Sithara and Muskaan Khubchandani as the female leads. The film is being directed by debutant Lalith Kumar and produced by Rajashekar’s daughters Shivani and Shivathmika along with MLV Satyanarayana.
