Box office always throws up surprises in ways one doesn’t expect. One such scenario is now about to unfold. Rocking Star Yash’s Toxic arrives in theatres tomorrow, and the hype surrounding the gangster action drama is sky-high.
Advance bookings have been terrific across all five languages. What’s more surprising is that Toxic advances are trending bigger than Suriya’s Vishwanath And Sons in Tamil Nadu. Suriya’s family drama opened a little over Rs. 7 crore gross in the state, and going by the current momentum, Toxic has a very good chance of opening in the Rs. 9-10 crore gross range.
A dubbed film outshining a straight Tamil film is definitely something that doesn’t happen very often. Yash’s monstrous stardom is on full display, while the Toxic trailer, with its wider and more appealing reach compared to a few recent PAN-Indian biggies, succeeded in grabbing the attention of audiences across the country and helping the film register phenomenal advances.
