Suriya’s next theatrical release is Karuppu, a rural action entertainer directed by RJ Balaji. After a long wait, the makers recently announced that the film will hit screens on May 14 during the summer season.
Of late, many Kollywood films have been releasing in Telugu with their original Tamil titles, a trend that hasn’t gone down well with moviebuffs and audiences. Breaking away from this pattern, the makers of Karuppu have titled the Telugu version Veera Bhadrudu.
This comes as a welcome move and could help the film connect better with the Telugu audience. Trisha plays the female lead, while the project is produced by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music.
