Chennai Love Story is enjoying a successful run at the box office. The romantic drama registered strong occupancy on Sunday, with its opening weekend collections said to be the best in Kiran Abbavaram’s career. The film also stars Sri Gouri Priya in the female lead.
While the film has been well received overall, some viewers felt the second half could have been more engaging. Responding to the feedback in a post-release interview, director Ravi Namburri revealed that several scenes were removed during the editing process.
According to the director, the film originally had enough footage for a runtime of nearly four and a half hours. He added that if those scenes had been retained, many of the concerns surrounding the second half might not have existed. However, the footage had to be trimmed to keep the runtime suitable for a theatrical release.
Despite the mixed opinions on its latter half, Chennai Love Story has struck a chord with audiences and emerged as a successful venture.
The film is produced by SKN and Sai Rajesh, who also penned the story. Mani Sharma composed the music, which generated strong buzz ahead of the film’s release.
