Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava is going bonkers at the ticket windows. In its first weekend, the film collected over Rs. 120 crores nett at the domestic box office. The movie is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Akshaye Khanna played the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

After a fabulous weekend, all eyes were on the make-or-break Monday, and Chhaava has now passed the first working day test with flying colors. The historical action drama collected nearly Rs. 25 crores nett on its first Monday. This can be termed a phenomenal hold as the drop is just around 25% from day one. The four-day total is approximately Rs. 146 crores nett.

Chhaava has already emerged as a clean hit, and it’s on track to become the first blockbuster of Hindi cinema in 2025. There is a holiday in Maharashtra on Wednesday due to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, which gives the film an extra push on the weekdays.

Tuesday’s numbers are expected to be bigger than Monday’s since the holiday factor comes into effect from today’s evening and night shows itself. There aren’t any big releases in Bollywood until Eid (Sikandar), and hence, it’s going to be a one-horse race for this Vicky Kaushal starrer.

Chhaava is all set to cross Rs. 200 crores nett by Wednesday, and at this pace, the movie should target the Rs. 400 crores club. This milestone was achieved only by a handful of films in Bollywood previously. Let’s see how far Chhaava can go. Maddock Films, headed by Dinesh Vijan, produced this emotionally charged biopic.
