Megastar Chiranjeevi’s iconic yesteryear socio-fantasy entertainer, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, is set to re-release in cinemas worldwide on May 9, exactly 35 years after its initial release. Also starring the legendary diva Sridevi in a lead role, the K Raghavendra Rao-directed film ended up being a huge blockbuster.
In a special interview ahead of JVAS’s re-release, Chiranjeevi reacted to the years-long speculation about a potential sequel or remake of JVAS and the perfect cast if the project was ever recreated. Chiru jokingly said he can’t do the project now even though he wants to, and that sounds too ambitious.
Chiru went on to say that Ram Charan and Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor would be perfect for a sequel or remake. “I also feel Ashwini Dutt garu’s daughters Priyanka and Swapna Dutt should produce the sequel/remake, and his son-in-law Nag Ashwin should direct it, with guidance from Raghavendra Rao garu. That would be historic,” he added.
