This week, the only notable Tollywood release is Comrade Kalyan, headlined by Sree Vishnu. It is a typical Sree Vishnu-style fun entertainer that explores the life of a Naxalite.
The movie was supposed to clash with Venkatesh’s Aadarsha Kutumbam, but the latter backing out at the last minute has turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Now, Comrade Kalyan is set to have a solo release. It’s been a while since Sree Vishnu scored a box-office success, and the opportunity can’t get any better than this.
Hanuman Ansh’s Telugu version is also arriving this Friday, but that isn’t a bigger threat as it’s been quite a while since the original version was released, and the buzz isn’t that high right now. If Comrade Kalyan gets good reports, it can leave a good impact at the box office.
