Content Over Star Power: Bethlehem Kudumba Unit Beats I’m Game in BMS Sales

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, which was released in Malayalam on August 21, 2026, has expanded into Telugu and Tamil today. Despite being in theatres for more than two weeks, the film is showing strong demand on BookMyShow (BMS), with hourly sales reaching around 13K tickets.

Interestingly, Dulquer Salmaan’s latest action thriller I’m Game, which released yesterday, is currently trailing behind with around 8K hourly sales. The film has received mixed reviews and also faced delays in starting shows across Telugu and other languages. The contrast between the two films highlights how audiences seem to be leaning more toward content than star power.

Starring Nivin Pauly and Mamta Baiju in the lead roles, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has already crossed the Rs. 200 crore worldwide gross mark. With the film now expanding beyond Malayalam, it remains to be seen whether it can maintain its strong momentum while I’m Game looks to find its rhythm. The coming weekend could be crucial for Dulquer Salmaan’s film.
