Recently the title teaser of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie was released by the movie unit, and it had the music of legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja. Va Va Pakkam Va song from Thangamagan, composed by Maestro, was used by Anirudh. This has not gone well with Ilaiyaraaja, and he sent a copyright notice to Coolie team for using his music without permission.
Rajinikanth was spotted at Chennai airport today, and a few reporters asked him to talk about Ilaiyaraaja’s copyright issue. Rajinikanth said, “The issue is between Ilaiyaraaja and producer Kalanithi Maran.” Sometimes, the statements made by popular actors will be blown out of proportion on social media, and Rajini did the right thing by giving a smart answer.
It remains to be seen if both parties will arrive at an amicable solution. Coolie will showcase Rajinikanth as a mafia don, and the film is set against the backdrop of gold smuggling. Coolie won’t be part of LCU, and it is a standalone film.
