Bethlehem Kudumba Unit (BKU) continues to be unstoppable at the ticket windows. After receiving huge attention during the Onam festival, the Malayalam rom-com has now gone past Yash’s Toxic in total BookMyShow ticket sales, following its strong performance in hourly sales yesterday.
Starring Mamitha Baiju and Nivin Pauly, BKU has shown no signs of slowing down even after completing its first week. On day 7, Thursday, the film sold around 450K tickets on BookMyShow alone, surpassing Toxic’s day 2 figure of around 372K tickets. The Yash-starrer witnessed a 59% drop from its day 1 BookMyShow sales, making the comparison even more notable.
What makes BKU’s performance special is that a single-language film has managed to outperform a major multilingual release in daily ticket sales. Directed by Girish AD, the film’s sustained run is a strong reflection of its positive word of mouth and the audience connection it has built.
