Ram Gopal Varma’s annoucement of Murder, a film on the tragic story of the sensational honour killing victim Amrutha Pranay, is receiving widespread criticism. Even Amrutha had written a blasting note, calling out RGV’s insensitive exploitation of the injustice meted out to her.

However, despite intense criticism from all quarters, RGV is in no mood to step back. In a series of tweets, he tried to explain to Amrutha and everyone who’s opposing the film that it’s “foolish” to assume that he is going to show someone involved in a negative light. RGV went on to say that he strongly believes that “nobody is bad and only bad circumstances make people look bad or make them behave bad and that’s what he intends to explore in Murder.

RGV also said that he has “the highest respect for people who endured a tremendous trauma.” Well, now that RGV is adamant about continuing with his film, whether Amrutha Pranay and her in-laws will take any further action to stall the project remains to be seen.
