Bollywood director Sanjay Gadhvi, renowned for helming the first two installments of the Dhoom franchise, passed away this morning in Mumbai at the age of 57 due to a heart attack.

According to reports, he experienced chest pain during his morning walk along the Lokhandwala Backroad in Andheri West, Mumbai. Despite being swiftly taken to a nearby private hospital, doctors confirmed he was brought in dead.

Sanjay started his Bollywood journey in 2001 with the film Tere Liye, which didn’t catch much attention. But, in 2002, he found success with Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, a Yash Raj Films production. After this, he directed Dhoom (2004), a blockbuster that not only set the box office on fire but also launched a successful film series.

His directorial talent shone in Dhoom 2, starring Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Uday Chopra. The movie was a massive hit in 2006.

However, Sanjay faced setbacks with his later projects like Kidnap (2008) and Ajab Gazabb Love (2012), which didn’t perform well at the box office. His digital debut came with Amit Sadh’s Operation Parindey, which premiered on ZEE5.

Many Bollywood celebs mourned his sudden demise and expressed their deepest condolences to his family. The last rites of the filmmaker will take place this evening. We at 123telugu express our deepest sympathies to his family.
