After being postponed for over 7 years, Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram’s highly-anticipated spy thriller, Dhruva Natchathiram (Dhruva Nakshathram in Telugu), finally sealed its world theatrical release on November 24. Interestingly, Vikram, who is rumored to have been vexed by the years-long delay, is in no mood to promote the Gautham Menon directorial, and he has not even posted a single tweet or took part in the promotional interviews yet.
On the other hand, it looks like a major disappointment is in store for all Chiyaan fans this Friday. If the latest buzz in Kollywood circles is anything to go by, Dhruva Natchathiram could be postponed yet again due to financial issues. However, the film’s makers are said to be going all out to clear these issues to ensure a smooth release this weekend.
Director Gautham Menon, who also produced Dhruva Natchathiram on Ondraga Entertainment banner, is reportedly on a mission to seal the film’s OTT (Netflix) and satellite rights (Kalaignar TV) deals to repay nearly Rs 50 crore to the financiers. The movie will see the light of the day once Gautham Menon inks these non-theatrical rights deals and clears the debts. Vikram fans are anxiously awaiting a miracle and are hoping to witness Chiyaan at his stylish best on November 24.
Also starring Tollywood actress Ritu Varma and senior heroine Simran in key roles, Dhruva Natchathiram has its soundtrack composed by Harris Jayaraj. Stay tuned for further updates on this most eagerly awaited biggie.
