Dhurandhar: The Revenge is rewriting records at the Indian box office. Already, the spy action thriller fronted by Ranveer Singh earned over Rs 750 crores globally. The Dhurandhar 2 wave has been so powerful that the Hollywood film Project Hail Mary had to postpone the release in India by a week.

In an exclusive conversation with Variety India, the director duo spoke about the film coming to Indian theatres a week after its global release. Miller said, “We’ve got a sequel to a very popular Bollywood film (Dhurandhar 2) coming on that date. I heard about it. And I am happy.”

Miller and Phil Lord opined that the postponement is good for the health of the global movie business and for Bollywood. The sci-fi film follows the story of Ryland Grace, a man who awakens on an interstellar spacecraft with no memory of how he came there. Project Hail Mary received critical acclaim and is posting good collections. It remains to be seen how it will perform in India.
