Dhurandhar, after making waves in theatres, is now posting strong numbers on OTT as well. In just three days, the Bollywood spy action thriller clocked 7.6 million views globally. As the momentum continues, the sequel has been announced with the title Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The film is set to release in cinemas in multiple languages on March 19, 2026.
There have been several business developments related to Dhurandhar 2. First, the music label changed, followed by a shift in the OTT platform. The makers’ confidence appears to have paid off, with the project already generating significant pre-release revenue due to strong buzz.
According to reports, Jio Hotstar has acquired the digital streaming rights. The OTT deal for Dhurandhar 2 is said to be valued at Rs. 150 crore, which is massive and nearly double what Netflix reportedly paid for Part 1. With the film generating strong buzz across platforms, retaining the streaming rights within the Jio ecosystem appears to be a smart business move, allowing the group to fully capitalise on the ongoing craze.
There is also buzz that Netflix attempted a three-digit combined bid for both parts before Dhurandhar hit cinemas. However, the team reportedly remained confident and declined the offer.
With the audio rights and OTT deal combined, the makers are said to have recovered around Rs. 175 crore already. Promotions are expected to play a key role in boosting the sequel’s reach ahead of its release. Stay tuned for more updates on Ranveer Singh’s film directed by Aditya Dhar.
