Who would have imagined that the mighty all-time record of Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hindi (Rs. 830 crores nett) will be broken in just a span of a year? The recent box office dinosaur Dhurandhar, spearheaded by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, is now the new industry of Bollywood.

It took 33 days for the spy action thriller to become the biggest Hindi film of all time. What’s remarkable is that Dhurandhar’s opening day numbers are significantly lower compared to Pushpa 2, but the former had a dream run at the ticket windows, growing from strength to strength with each passing day. Dhurandhar’s total now stands at Rs. 831 crores nett in India, and the film still has fuel left in it to get close to the Rs. 900 crore mark in its lifetime.

No other film stirred conversations online as Dhurandhar did in the last few months. The heavy hatred for the film from a section of people also worked in Dhurandhar’s favour, as it consistently kept the film in the spotlight.

This is the first-ever film of Ranveer Singh to emerge as the industry’s biggest hit. Aditya Dhar’s outstanding storytelling kept audiences glued to the screens for three and a half hours, and the result is that Dhurandhar is now the new emperor of Hindi cinema. Apart from direction, every other department also gave its best.

Dhurandhar also stars Akshaye Khanna, Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor in significant roles. Aditya Dhar, along with Jio Studios, bankrolled this flick. Shashwat Sachdev composed the tunes. Dhurandhar: Part 2 will open in cinemas on March 19, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
