Kollywood actor-director duo Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed up for the first time and delivered the super hit action thriller, Kaithi (Khaidi in Telugu). Released in 2019, the film earned immense critical acclaim and commercial success. Both Karthi and Lokesh Kanagaraj had talked about the Kaithi sequel on several occasions but never revealed much about it.
Leaving all the Kaithi fans pleasantly surprised, Karthi took to Instagram on Saturday evening and shared a picture with Lokesh Kanagaraj. “Dilli Returns. Let it be another fantastic year,” the actor told Lokesh. It’s well known that Kaithi 2 will be part of the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU). Lokesh’s previous directorials, such as Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Vijay’s Leo, had references to Kaithi.
The Kaithi sequel will be bankrolled by SR Prabhu under his Dream Warrior Pictures in association with the leading Sandalwood banner KVN Productions. More details about this crazy sequel will be out soon.
