Bollywood director and actor Tigmanshu Dhulia invited unwanted trouble after taking a dig at the biggest Indian franchise, Dhurandhar. He criticized the film’s plot and commented that there is a growing dependence on familiar templates in the industry. He added that only one kind of film is being made lately and termed every film a fictional biopic, referring to KGF, Dhurandhar, and the Pushpa series.
Speaking at an event organised by the Editors Guild of India, Tigmanshu said, “By the way, I liked the first part of Dhurandhar, very well presented, engaging, good music. But if you ask someone to tell the story of Dhurandhar, no one will be able to tell you. A man who is undercover goes to Pakistan and wreaks havoc there. Is this even a story?”
Tigmanshu went on to say that ‘extreme capitalism’ is the reason for such trends in the industry. The director’s comments on Dhurandhar have hurt fans, who started aggressively trolling the Paan Singh Tomar director. Several netizens began arguing that Dhurandhar has set the bar higher for Indian cinema and that statements like these are nothing but pure jealousy from someone who is unable to deliver such quality products.
