Diwali 2026 is going to be a treat for Tamil movie lovers, with Suriya’s Scene, Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2, and the mythological epic Ramayana: Part One locking horns at the box office. However, it’s going to be a tough time ahead for exhibitors, as three films are competing to secure the best showcasing during the festival period. Also, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, the new industry hit of Kollywood, is looking to retain a good number of screens.
Suriya’s Scene might not reach its full potential, as it needs to share screens with the other two films. Red Giant Movies is distributing Mookuthi Amman 2, and the film enjoys good craze among family audiences. On the other hand, Ramayana has already secured the premium-format screens, and the advances look highly promising for the Hindi version, while bookings are yet to begin for the Tamil version.
Since the battle is set to be fierce, these films need to receive good reports to leave an impact at the Tamil Nadu box office. The film with the best talk will be given preference when it comes to the allotment of prime-time shows and major screens.
