Dynamic ticket pricing from Rs. 100 to Rs. 1000? Tollywood producers explore big shift

A crucial meeting involving members of the Active Producers Guild is scheduled for May 12 to discuss the viability of a percentage-sharing system with theatres. The meeting, originally planned for today, has been postponed to May 12.

It is being said that the discussion will just not be limited to percentage sharing topic alone. Top producers are reportedly planning to approach the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments to seek a flexible G.O. that allows filmmakers themselves to decide ticket prices for their moviee.

If approved, ticket rates could range anywhere between Rs. 100 and Rs. 1000, without the need for separate G.O.s for each film.

Will this actually happen? And if it does, how will audiences react to the flexible pricing model? Only time will tell.
