Awarapan 2 has emerged as one of the biggest surprise hits of the year. The Emraan Hashmi starrer opened with a strong ₹26 crore range on Day 1.
It witnessed massive growth on Day 2 and made Rs 39 crore. Day 3 was also impressive as the film made Rs 26 crore, taking its worldwide collections close to the ₹100 crore mark within just three days.
The film’s success has come as a pleasant surprise for the industry. While the original Awarapan failed at the box office during its 2007 release, the part has worked wonders.
Despite bad reviews, the film has also benefited from strong word of mouth. Disha Patani, who plays the female lead, has added glamour and appeal to the project.
