After the blockbuster success of Baby, Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya are reuniting for Epic – First Semester, a youthful romantic drama directed by Aditya Haasan, who won hearts with 90’s – A Middle Class Biopic. Set against a college backdrop, the film promises a heartfelt blend of love, laughter, and relatable emotions.
The movie has already generated strong buzz with its songs and teaser. The makers have locked September 11, 2026, as the theatrical release date, and promotions are expected to pick up pace in the coming weeks.
The film takes over the release slot that was earlier associated with Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali, which is still under production, giving the younger Deverakonda the chance to entertain audiences first.
Shivaji and Vasuki Anand play key roles in the film, reuniting with Aditya Haasan after their successful web series. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film features music by Hesham Abdul Wahab and cinematography by Azeem Mohammad.
