After teaming up with the legendary Kamal Haasan after almost 37 years for Thug Life, master filmmaker Mani Ratnam is all set to reunite with Kollywood stalwart Rajinikanth after 34 years. An official announcement regarding the Rajini-Mani Ratnam project is expected to be out on December 12, on the occasion of Rajini’s birthday.
As per the latest updates, the Rajini-Mani Ratnam project, tentatively titled Thalaivar173, might go on floors in July, 2025, once Mani Ratnam is free from Thug Life’s theatrical release. Mani Ratnam’s production house, Madras Talkies, will collaborate with a leading Kollywood banner to jointly bankroll Thalaivar173.
Rajini and Mani Ratnam had collaborated with each other for the iconic gangster drama, Thalapathi, which released in 1991. Needless to say, all eyes are on their second collaboration. Stay tuned to 123telugu for further updates on this prestigious project.
