Allu Arjun is one actor in Telugu film industry who has grown from strength to strength right from the days of Arya. Although his debut film Gangotri gave him a good launchpad, it was Arya which got him laurels from all quarters. After that he went on act in films like Bunny, Desamudhuru, Parugu, Arya 2 and Vedam which covered a wide range of genres and he earned the tag as a ‘Stylish star’ in Telugu cinema.

In a recent interview, when he was asked if his father Allu Arvind’s name and that he was Chiranjeevi’s nephew were of big help in his growth as an actor, Allu Arjun spoke quite candidly about the issue. “Family name is like a brand and it definitely helps to get people to the theatres. Once the lights go out, everything depends on how well you perform. Chiranjeevi garu won’t come and dance on my behalf. My father will not act on my behalf. It’s the actor’s responsibility to do his best to impress the audience,” Allu Arjun said. He also added that there’s no competition between him and Ram Charan or anyone else in Mega Family. “Although we are all acting in the same film industry, each one of us has taken a different route and we work really hard,” he said.

Allu Arjun is currently shooting for Vamshi Paidipally’s Yevadu in which he’s playing an important role. His upcoming film Iddarammayilatho, in Puri Jagannadh’s direction, is gearing up for release on May 10. Amala Paul and Catherine Tresa are his co-stars in Iddarammayilatho.
