But this humongous success is achieved only after the film’s producer Pranay Vanga and his director brother Sandeep Vanga spent several nerve wracking days prior to the release. Both Sandeep and Pranay took loans to the tune of 4 crores to complete Arjun Reddy, which was eventually made with a budget of 5 crore.
Sandeep and Pranay sold off Arjun Reddy’s AP and Telangana theatrical rights to leading distributor Sunil Narang of Asian Films by taking 4 crore advance and immediately cleared the 4 crore debt. Sunil Narang will first deduct his 4 crore from the profits and the rest will be shared on a 50-50 basis.
Same is the case with the overseas deal. Sandeep and Pranay took 50 lakhs advance from their overseas distributors Nirvana Cinemas and again, the profits followed will be shared on a 50-50 basis.
Following the film’s blockbuster success, popular entertainment channel Zee Telugu has offered 3 crore to Arjun Reddy’s makers to acquire the satellite rights. The deal is yet to be inked. On the other hand, the Tamil remake rights will fetch anywhere around 1.50 Cr.
Apart from this, Amazon Prime Video has bagged Arjun Reddy’s digital streaming rights for Rs.1.60 crore. Trade analysts are predicting that Arjun Reddy will end up collecting close to 25 crore share in its lifetime theatrical run. Eventually, Sandeep and Pranay will be laughing all the way to the bank with close to 15 crore profit. An inspiring feat indeed!
