From Clash to Clear Run: ‘Toxic’ Delay Hands ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ a Big Box Office Boost

Trade analysts and movie buffs were eager to see how the box office clash between Yash’s Toxic and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge would play out on March 19, 2026. However, things changed after KVN Productions announced that Toxic has been postponed to June 4, 2026. With the clash now avoided, the focus has shifted completely to Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the much-awaited sequel to the Bollywood blockbuster that created a sensation in 2025.

Interestingly, the film hasn’t begun strong promotions yet. No song, teaser glimpse, or major promotional content has been released so far. Even then, excitement among fans remains high, mainly because of the massive success and popularity of the first installment.

With Toxic moving away from the date, Dhurandhar: The Revenge now gets a clear solo release window, which could work strongly in its favour. Without another big pan-Indian film arriving on the same day, the movie may secure more screens and better show timings across several territories.

Another factor working in its favour is the extended weekend along with the festive period of Eid and Ram Navami, which could help boost theatre footfall during the opening days and the upcoming week.

Since Toxic is no longer part of the release frame, many screens that might have been split between the two big films could now go to Dhurandhar. This advantage may not only be visible in the Hindi market, but also in other regions where large-scale films usually compete for screens.

At the same time, this puts extra responsibility on the makers. Director Aditya Dhar and his team will likely look to step up promotions to make the most of the opportunity created by the postponed clash. With the film reportedly just two weeks away from release, a major promotional push is expected soon, and a trailer is said to be arriving on March 6, 2026.

If the promotional campaign clicks with audiences, Dhurandhar: The Revenge could open strongly at the box office, backed by high anticipation and a favourable release window. Trade circles and movie buffs are now keen to see what kind of box office impact the sequel will create.
