Known for his feel-good entertainers, veteran filmmaker MS Raju is taking a surprising turn into the horror genre with his next directorial venture. Titled Agadha, the film is being designed as a pan-Indian spectacle, marking a bold shift from his usual storytelling style and generating strong curiosity among audiences.
The announcement poster has already grabbed attention, featuring a woman confronting a terrifying, larger-than-life idol with twelve hands, hinting at a blend of divinity and fear. Described as a mystic divine thriller, the project has wrapped up its shoot and is currently in post-production.
Featuring a diverse ensemble, Agadha stars Sai Kamakshi Bhaskarla, known for her performance in Polimera, alongside Shravan Reddy of Dirty Hari fame. The cast also includes Ulka Ganesh, who was recently seen in The Kerala Story 2, and Jovika Vijaykumar in key roles.
Produced by Kasi Visalakshi Balusu under the Sri Adi Varaha Productions banner, the film was shot over 85 days across multiple locations and specially designed sets, reflecting its ambitious scale.
The makers promise a visually rich experience, with nearly 45 minutes of VFX playing a crucial role in elevating the narrative. The technical team includes composer Mikkin Aruldev and cinematographer Nani Chamidisetty, contributing to the film’s immersive appeal.
Agadha is gearing up for a grand theatrical release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, aiming to offer a unique mix of mythology and suspense on a pan-Indian scale.
