It’s just in Andhra Pradesh that Pawan Kalyan, Shruti Haasan starrer Gabbar Singh is doing phenomenal business. We have received reports from places like USA and even Tamil Nadu that Gabbar Singh is doing extremely well at box office. Taran Adarsh, a prominent trade analyst based in Mumbai, has stated that Gabbar Singh has done better business than most other recent Bollywood releases in the US, despite releasing in less than 1/3 of the screens. Revealing the collections, Taran Adarsh tweeted, ” USA: #GabbarSingh [Telugu] Thu $ 157,349, Fri $ 204,897, Sat $ 214,844 [some sites unreported]. Total: $ 577,090. Superb!” According to his estimates, the total figure could be even higher since some sites have not reported their collections. Sources say that this is the first time since Dookudu that a Telugu film is doing such roaring business in the US. Elsewhere in Tamil Nadu, Gabbar Singh released in around 25 screens, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped the film from setting the cash registers ringing. Sreedhar Pillai, who tracks box office reports, tweeted, “Gabbar Singh Extraordinary opening 4 a Telugu film in Chennai city, the best in 2012. Gabbar Singh is turning out 2 b a blockbuster in 25 screens in TN. Some multiplexes r playing it in the bigger screen on day 2!” The film is running all over the world with a blockbuster talk and it’s just the third day of its run. We’ll have to wait and see how many more records it is going to shatter in its final run.
