Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has registered a better-than-expected opening at the box office, surpassing pre-release trade projections in India.
Industry estimates had predicted a Day 1 collection in the range of ₹7 crore to ₹7.5 crore, but the film comfortably exceeded those expectations by collecting an impressive ₹8.65 crore on Friday.
A major factor behind the strong start was the 50% discount offer, which helped drive footfalls across markets. The film performed well not only in national multiplex chains but also at non-national chains and single-screen theatres.
The focus now shifts to the weekend, where strong growth on Saturday and Sunday will be crucial for consolidating its box-office momentum. Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur play main leads.
