Filmmaker Harish Shankar recently shared an interesting story about how the OTT deal for his upcoming project Ustaad Bhagar Singh with Netflix was finalized.
The director revealed that the streaming giant approved the deal after watching only a few showreels from the film. Speaking in an interview, Harish Shankar said that the movie had barely completed a few days of shooting when the opportunity came.
He had saved some early footage for personal viewing and later edited those clips into a short teaser-like presentation. When the team at Netflix watched the material, they were reportedly impressed with what they saw.
According to Harish, the platform quickly gave the green signal for the deal based on that limited footage. The agreement is said to be worth around ₹80 crore, which is a significant amount.
