Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyar and Sardar 2 are in post-production currently. The former is set to hit the big screens in December 2025, while there isn’t any official announcement about the latter’s release timeline. Sardar 2 is the official sequel to the 2022 superhit spy action thriller Sardar.
According to the latest buzz in Kollywood circles, Sardar 2 is eyeing a theatrical release in April 2026. Directed by P.S. Mithran, the movie features Karthi in dual roles as a father and a son. The first part featured Rajisha Vijayan and Raashii Khanna as the female leads.
The sequel stars Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganathan as the leading ladies, while SJ Suryah is essaying a key role. Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena are producing Sardar 2 under the banner of Prince Pictures and IVY Entertainment. Sam C.S. is the music composer.
