Hindi film Shehzada, the official remake of Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramulo, is a commercial failure at the ticket windows. Karthik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon reprised the roles of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hedge, respectively. The movie, which was released in February in theatres, is now streaming on Netflix.
The film is now trending at the top spot on Netflix India’s movies section. The fact that the original version was watched by Hindi audiences during the lockdown is a key reason behind the film’s failure. Coincidentally Ala Vaikunthapurramulo’s digital partner is also Netflix.
Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Sachin Khedekar, and Ronit Roy played vital roles. Bankrolled by T-Series Films, Allu Entertainment, Brat Films, and Haarika & Hassine Creations, this family entertainer is directed by Rohit Dhawan. Shehzada has Pritam’s music.
