Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan continues to face censorship hurdles. The issue is currently in court, and earlier this morning, Justice P. T. Asha directed the Censor Board to issue the certificate immediately. However, the CBFC filed a writ appeal before the first Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava and Justice G. Arul Murugan, seeking a hearing.
As per the latest update, the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court has temporarily stayed the single judge’s order directing the CBFC to grant a U/A certificate to Vijay’s film. The next hearing has been scheduled for January 21, after the Pongal holidays.
This development clearly indicates that Jana Nayagan will not hit the big screens anytime soon. Fans are absolutely heartbroken to see the star hero’s farewell film facing such hurdles. Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju play key roles in the film.
