The recent terror attack in Pahalgam shocked the entire nation. People across the country mourned the loss of innocent lives and expressed anger over the brutal act. But during this time, some people on social media started targeting Muslim film personalities, accusing them of links to Pakistan, without any proof.

One such target was Imanvi Ismail, a new actress making her debut in Prabhas’ upcoming film Fauji (tentative title), directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Many users wrongly claimed she was Pakistani and asked the filmmakers to remove her from the project.

After a day of hate and trolling, Imanvi finally responded with a heartfelt Instagram post. She began by sharing her condolences for the victims of the Pahalgam attack, calling the violence heartbreaking and strongly condemning it. She said her mission as an artist has always been to spread love and positivity, not hate.

Imanvi then addressed the false claims about her background. She clearly stated that she is not Pakistani, and that no one in her family has any links to the Pakistani military. She explained that these rumors were made up by online trolls to spread hate and were unfortunately picked up by some media without fact-checking.

She went on to explain that she is a proud Indian-American, born in Los Angeles, where her parents moved legally and later became U.S. citizens. She speaks Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati, and English, and has always felt a deep connection to Indian culture. After completing her studies, she built a career in dance and acting and feels lucky to now work in the Indian film industry, which inspired her since childhood.

Imanvi said she hopes to use her platform to bring people together, not divide them. She believes art should be a tool for unity, healing, and understanding, especially in times of pain and loss.

After her post, many fans and supporters came forward to show love and stand by her. It’s a reminder to all of us that before reacting online, we should check the facts and not judge someone based on their name or background.
