The PAN Indian blockbuster RRR was also released in IMAX format as well. Now the CEO of IMAX has shared some great things about this Rajamouli directorial. He said that the local language films, such as RRR from India and Dragon Ball Super from Japan, have shown a significant increase in revenue from the IMAX format.
Richard Gelfond stated that the global IMAX revenue from these local language films has enhanced from 2% in 2019 to 35% this year. He added that, on the whole, the income from these local language films accounted for 30% of IMAX’S worldwide box office.
This is undoubtedly a great moment for the Telugu film and Indian film industry. We can expect more Indian movies in the IMAX format in the coming days, and the next biggie to join this list would be Adhipurush.
