Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda was the chief guest at the pre-release event of Kollywood star Suriya’s soon-to-release romantic action drama, Retro. The event was held in Hyderabad on Saturday night, with Suriya and the film’s cast and crew in attendance.
Vijay Deverakonda’s speech at the event was bold and heartfelt as always. “Suriya Anna has always been one of my favorite actors. His performances often left me shocked. His movies are an inspiration, and I want to act like him and do the kind of movies he does. Suriya S/o Krishnan is my most favorite Suriya Anna movie, and I just love the Chanchala song. Retro should become a big hit,” said the Kingdom actor.
Vijay also made a few sensational statements on the Pahalgam terror attack and Pakistan’s role behind it. “These terrorists lack brains, and they need to be educated. Pakistan lacks basic infrastructure and can’t even handle its own issues within the country and still has the audacity to attack India for Kashmir. I just want to reiterate that Kashmir belongs to India and Kashmiris are an integral part of our country. As Indians, we need to be human and foster friendship. I strongly feel that India doesn’t even need to go to war with Pakistan. The Pakistanis will be fed up with their government and revolt someday,” he added.
Retro, starring star heroine Pooja Hegde in a lead role, is directed by acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Suriya under his 2D Entertainment banner. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music. Tollywood producer Naga Vamsi is releasing Retro’s Telugu version on May 1, 2025.
