Puri Jagannadh badly needs a hit and he has pinned high hopes on iSmart Shankar. The film is all set to hit theaters tomorrow (July 18). Meanwhile, there have been several allegations that Puri has lifted iSmart Shankar’s main plot from the acclaimed British sci-fi thriller, iBoy.
However, Puri, in a latest promotional interview, has clarified that it was only ‘inspiration’ and that he didn’t copy any film directly. “Yes, I have been inspired by a few Hollywood films while scripting iSmart Shankar. But I didn’t copy any film. You will understand the difference when you watch the movie,” said the director.
Incidentally, in both iSmart Shankar and iBoy, the male protagonists have a microchip installed in their brains. Ram, Nidhhi Agerwal and Nabha Natesh as the main leads in iSmart Shankar.
